Basic Taekwondo teaches the fundamentals of Traditional Taekwondo and life lessons..

This class is for anyone interested in the martial arts, of at least five years of age. However, most of the current students are currently children ages 6 to 12. We suggest that students of sr. orange belt rank or higher take Intermediate Taekwondo instead, or even Advanced Taekwondo at higher rank

Very generally, Taekwondo means "The Way of Kicking and Punching". In the traditional sense, it s is a hard style martial that carries emphasis on hard strikes with the hand and high, flashy kicks with the feet. In our school, we take a very eclectic approach to the martial art. However, these differences are far less evident at the basic level. In addition to hand strikes and kicks, students will learn blocking movements, and stances that promote good balance and movement. Katas, or forms, also feature prominently in the curriculum, These pre-arranged sequences of movements help teach students to smoothly and effectively combine the basic techniques. Besides technique and curriculum, we also encourage a strong sense of family at our school. All interactions among students and instructors are based on respect and understanding. We not only strive to make good martial artists, but we want to help develop respectful and respectable students.

Most classes focus on the Taekwondo curriculum material, with occasional classes focusing on other elements of the martial arts. Classes are highly structured, with students of the same rank grouped together in order to learn the material needed for their next rank.
